London, England

London

Bronwen and yours truly
I suppose I should have taken it as a sign of things to come when Mary Lynne's London contact was not available either. Nevertheless, we lucked out when walking down the street we ran into Bronwen, a rough-around-the-edges Welsh woman who invited us to stay in her extra bedroom in Hampstead, for very little money. We got along great until my friend got into an argument with her over the money Bronwen's husband had spent on beer for Mary Lynne at the pub the previous night. Did I get what was going on? Not really, but I was able to pull their voices apart and diplomatically heal the rift for one more night's stay. Lesson number one when planning a hitchhiking trip with a friend: make sure they pack their medication.
We packed in a lot of sites in one week, but my favorite was Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum.

There's so much to see and do in London!

For six days in London, it's possible to cover a lot of ground. We left for France via the ferry that passed by the famous cliffs of Dover and landed in Calais, France. It was too rainy and cold in London and after a hard winter in Canada, time for some sun!
